Obituary

David I. Lynch, 90, passed away peacefully at home with his family with whom he laughed, lived for and loved on Friday, April 21st after a long struggle with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia.

David is now reunited with his beloved wife, Lois S. (Ohman) Lynch, who passed away in 2012, and whom he missed dearly. He leaves five children, Mary Anne Davis and her husband Rob of California, Robert Lynch of North Conway, NH, Joan Lynch-Demoga and her husband Michael of Grafton, John Lynch of Sturbridge and Nancy Picking and her husband John of Grafton with whom he lived; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, George and Billy Lynch and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Lynch.

David was born in Boston and raised in Worcester where he attended catholic school. In 1944, he joined the United States Army, serving 5 years; with tours in the Pacific and Alaska. David was employed as a manager at the Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester for over 35 years. He was proud to serve his country and expressed his deep appreciation to all his fellow veterans that served as well. He was a member of the American Legion, Chester P. Tuttle Post, 279 in Auburn where he spent many enjoyable times sharing jokes with his fellow veterans. David enjoyed writing poetry, sketching cartoons and engaging in political discourse. He was also as an avid student of history. Most of all David enjoyed spending time with his family and was proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of the Jewish Health Care Hospice, Blackstone Valley Health Care and UMass Memorial CCU. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last 5 months was heartwarming and a blessing to the entire family.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
