Obituary

Eugene Armand Belanger, 85, formerly of Millbury and most recently of Northborough, passed away Tuesday, April 26th surrounded by his loving family.

Eugene leaves his wife of 59 years, Germaine A. (Elie) Belanger; a sister, Therese Duran and her husband Fernando, of Newport, NH; a sister in law, Theresa Silveira, of Epping, NH; his son, Armand Belanger and his wife Minerva Villanueva-Belanger, of Oxford; two daughters, Denise Lombardo and her husband Rob, of Whitinsville and Jeanne Lillie and her husband Patrick, of Millbury; nine grandchildren: Armand, Stephanie, Kim, and their mother, Cheryl Belanger, Katelyn, Nicholas, Nicole, Stephen, Michael, and Elliot; ten great grandchildren: Amber, Hunter, Cooper, Connor, Max, Mykel, Mehki, Marco, Micah, and Elijah; and 25 nieces and nephews and their families.

He is predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Rose Anna (DeRoy) Belanger; three sisters, Jeanne, Agnes, Rita and her husband Joe; four brothers, infant baby boy, Robert and his wife Evelyn, Louis and his wife Jean, Arthur and his wife Barbara, and his niece, Mimi.

Eugene was born in Dover, NH and grew up in Epping, NH, where he graduated from Epping High School. Loving sports, he played basketball, baseball and ran track. Eugene began working with his father in the family brickyard business. He enjoyed dancing at the Hampton Beach Ballroom/Casino, where he eventually met his wife. Serving in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War, he earned the Parachute Badge, National Defense Service Metal, Good Conduct Metal, and the Rank of Sergeant. Eugene attended Becker College, Clark University and graduated from Assumption College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. His employment includes, Thom McAn, Norton Company, Warner and Swasey, and Sears, continuing to work part time until the age of 80. He enjoyed socializing, golf, the beach, music, dancing, playing cards, Keno, and his sweets. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Millbury, St. Louis Church in Webster, and the Knights of Columbus. Eugene was an honorable man who had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband who was devoted to his wife to the very end. He will be dearly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 1st from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral will be held on Monday, May 2nd with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption, 10 Water Street in Millbury. Burial will be at Central Cemetery in Millbury, with reception to follow.
